You sold your hollow soul to a ghost in a regal robes
An open bribe and a broken oath
Bow down, fold your hands for the endless sermon of thieves
Bend over clench your teeth for the holy fuck of the priest
Drink from the cup of the old
We’re all flies drawn to shit with empty heads and open eyes
They’ve all got blood on their hands in the name of the father
Dead bodies piled high, praised as willing martyrs
This is the house that guilt built
All of us to ashes
Open hands, empty palms, hollow psalms
Failures in arms, all of us.
Knockout debut from a Buffalo, New York-based hardcore band who like their riffs sick, their drums fast, and their choruses sticky-sweet. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 28, 2024
These guys instantly became one of my favorite core bands after picking up Hexes on vinyl back in 2017. The majority of Ceremony’s tracks are punishingly fast and heavy, with Dead Husk being my absolute favorite. Their sound is as tight as ever. Though, I also whole heartedly welcome the doomier side of their sound on the title track Ceremony, which reminds me of the Sacto band Will Haven. However, with Ceremony, DSGNS proves they are in a league of their own. Don’t sleep on this! scares.exe
